BREAKING NEWS: Armed robbery in Horsham

A MAN was robbed in Redkiln Road, Horsham on Tuesday.

The victim was approached by a man at around 1pm who asked for the time. When he looked at his watch the man held a sharp weapon against his throat and demanded he hand over money.

He then ran off into York Close and past the garages behind Stuart House after taking cash from the victim.

Detective Constable Graham Milner said: “We are treating this distressing crime as an isolated incident. This took place near the junction with York Close not far from the Tesco Express. If you were in the area at the time of the robbery and saw any suspicious behaviour, or think you recognise the distinctive description of the suspect, contact police immediatey.”

The suspect is described as white, 6ft 4ins, skinny, with gaunt features and bags under his eyes, short cropped light brown hair, wearing a black hooded top with white writing down one shoulder, light grey jeans and white trainers with black laces.

PCSOs have been conducting house-to-house inquiries as part of the ongoing investigation and reviewing CCTV in the area.
