THOSE who work with young people are invited to take part in the next course of the ‘Working with Youth People?’ training programme.
The successful training course has been running since the beginning of March 2010 and aims to raise awareness and provide a basic understanding of the issues identified throughout the training programme.
The next course is on Saturday 12 March from 9am to 11am and covers the topic of personal safety.
The session will cover the importance of personal safety, the risks that they may encounter and provide practical solutions that will enable them to avoid or defuse violent and aggressive situations.
The programme provides those working with young people, both in a paid and voluntary capacity, with useful resources as well as information, advice and guidance.
By the end of the sessions, those attending will be equipped with the basic information and confidence to engage young people in discussions around these issues.
The free to attend course is open to anyone who works with or volunteers with young people aged 10 to 19 in a range of settings.
The training programme is a partnership initiative between Horsham District Council, Horsham Churches Together, West Sussex Council for Voluntary Youth Services and West Sussex Youth Service.
To book a place on the training session or for more information email email@example.com or call 01403 251385.
