Dominic Di Paola has stated the importance of having boosted his Horsham squad to now have some strengthen in depth.

They managed to name a full bench for just the sixth time in their last 17 matches on Saturday - when they beat Pagham 4-0.

That run stretches back to September during which they have named as few as three replacements for some matches.

Despite still missing Kevin Keehan and Darren Boswell through injury and Jake Chadwick in the stands - the Hornets were back up to a full contingent on Saturday.

Something that Di Paola believes they have really been missing, “We have got the numbers back up now which is good and I think we are going to need them,” he said.

“For a month we were a bit short and against Eastbourne United, we didn’t have any game changers on the bench.

“We had people that were 50 per cent fit and you do need different options, it gives you the opportunity to change things around a little bit.”

They are even looking to loan out a couple of players to gain match fitness with young Chadwick one of those set for game time.

Di Paola added: “We have got a couple of things we are going to do with some of the other lads. We are going to try and give Jake a month out on loan somewhere.

“He needs some minutes and deserves some minutes. He hadn’t started a game all season in senior football and to start him (against Eastbourne United) was very unfair.

“If we can get him a month and six games then he comes back into the fold and it will be good for him.

Horsham host Hassocks on Saturday and Di Paola admitted his side owe them one after a ‘frustrating’ 1-1 draw on the opening day of the season.
