Body discovered in Loxwood lock is named

THE woman whose body was discovered in the lock on the Wey and Arun Canal at Loxwood last Thursday has been named as Katherine Slade, aged 67 of High Street, Loxwood.

The alarm was raised at 9.30am on Thursday.

A fire service technical rescue unit was called in to recover her body from the lock close to the road bridge over the B2133 and behind the Onslow Arms pub.

Mystery still surrounds the incident but police have said there were no suspicious circumstances,
