The parish church of St Mary, Church Street, Storrington, rang its bells last night to announce the birth of the royal baby.

Laura Wadey, West Street, Storrington, along with her husband Ian were part of a group of seven who rang the bells to mark the arrival of the future King.

She said: “It’s a historic moment and you often find the bellringers will mark special occasions like that.”

Since their normal practice evenings are Friday, she said that some people in Storrington might have heard the bells sounding on a Monday night and wondered what was going on if they hadn’t heard the news yet.

Did you hear church bells ring to mark the occasion in your area last night, or did you take part in ringing them?
