Burglars broke into a Horsham restaurant overnight and attempted to steal money from a cash machine.

Police said at around 1.15am this morning (March 16) alarms were set off at The Station Beefeater, in North Street.

Officers said intruders broke into the restaurant through a fire door and made for a cash machine.

The suspects left empty-handed via another fire door after finding the ATM was empty.

Police searched the area, but no suspicious people or vehicles were found.

Anyone who saw any unusual activity in the area or who may have other information is asked to email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk or phone 101, quoting serial 59 of 16/03.
