With a full squad to choose from manager Julian Miller was able to protect a few of the players who were carrying injuries and was still able to put out a very strong starting line -up.

Miller said: “Overall, it was a very confident display with a fantastic team goal and every player putting in a committed performance. We can look forward to the final scheduled for May 6 at Burgess Hill Town.”

In the second minute, Paul White hit the crossbar with a fantastic effort. Andy Lampard and Aston had the defence in all sorts of trouble and created five chances which were not taken.

Having had the majority of possession,Roffey took the lead on 45 minutes.

Paul White made a run and opened space for Aston to run into and Ben Simester played a quality pass to send him away and he finished superbly past the keeper.

In the second half, Roffey should have had a penalty when Elliot Hawkes was brought down by a defender only for the referee to wave play on.

At the other end, the backline of Chris Simmons, Phil Awcock, Duncan Hirschfield and Simester protected Blaney superbly.
