Art and music courses available in Steyning

STEYNING Worker’s Education Association have announced what courses are available this autumn.

From Tuesday September 27 Frank Ferrie will be discussing Leonardo da Vinci, from his work as a painter and sculptor to being a scientist and a musician. The talk runs alongside the exhibition currently being displayed in the National Gallery in London. To take part visit Penfold Hall, Church Street, at 10am.

Other courses include Robert Carrington talking about Shostakovich a composer whose work was conditioned by the constraints of life in Soviet Russia, at the Jarvis Music Room, Jarvis Lane, 2pm until 4pm starting on Wednesday September 28.

While Jennifer Goldsmith is hosting from today (Thursday September 22) a course on ‘Milestones in English History 1066-1603’, on the major events which have shaped our history and their effect on life in Sussex. To find out more visit the Catholic Church Room, Bramber Road, starting at 2pm until 4pm

All the courses are for 10 weeks and cost £79 except for those on concessions. You can attend the first session and make up your mind before enrolling.
