A developer has lodged an appeal after an attempt to redevelop a historic Horsham site was rejected.
An application to demolish Prewetts Mill, in Worthing Road, and replace it with assisted living accommodation was turned down by councillors in July.
Property developer McCarthy and Stone announced today (September 15) it had submitted an appeal over the decision and said the outcome should be heard in the new year.
The application proposed demolishing the old mill and replacing it with 55 flats extended over six floors, offering extra care and assisted living for residents aged 70 and over.
Councillors voted to support officers recommendations and refuse the application due to the scale and design of the new building.
