Between 10am and 2pm on Saturday November 21, Age UK Horsham District volunteers will once again be organising their popular annual Christmas fayre with all proceeds going to the charity.
The fayre will take place at the charity’s Lavinia House premises situated behind the Drill Hall on Denne Road, Horsham.
The fayre will include craft, book, cake and gift stalls as well as refreshments, children’s games, a raffle, a tombola and, new this year, Santa’s Grotto! Local crafters who are interested in attending this event are welcome to get in touch, tables are available for £20.
Entry is free and all day parking is available for just £1!
Age UK Horsham District has recently launched their ‘Spread the Warmth’ campaign that looks to support older people during the winter months. 20% of Horsham District is now aged over 65 and during winter they are at increased risk of loneliness, social isolation and the cold.
Without support many older people will face increased emotional and health issues. Our focus is to make sure that local older people are able to keep themselves warm to avoid preventable illnesses caused by the cold weather.
Age UK Horsham District provides many services to ensure older people are getting the help they need with our Home Visiting and Information and Advice services helping people remain independent and healthy. Many of these services are completely free and money raised at the Christmas Fayre will help them to continue in the future.
Age UK Horsham District will be running a range of events at Lavinia House in then run up to Christmas with early traditional lunches and will be inviting older people who would otherwise be alone to join them.
Age UK Horsham District would welcome raffle prizes and good quality donations for the Fayre and their future events.
If you have anything you think would be suitable please get in touch to discuss.
