POLICE launched an appeal for witnesses today (October 2) after a man was arrested on suspicion of affray in Horsham.
Police said a man was allegedly threatened with a Stanley knife outside the Tesco Express, in Redkiln Way, at 5.30pm on September 20.
PC Katie Bonner said: “We would like to hear from anyone who saw or heard anything outside the shop at that time and who may be able to help us piece together what happened.”
A 20-year-old local man left the shop and then told police he was approached by a man he knew, who shouted at him and threatened him with the knife.
Police arrested an 18-year-old man nearby for affray and possession with intent to supply Class A drugs. He has been bailed until January 12, 2016, for further enquiries.
A search was made but a knife was not recovered, according to a spokesman.
Witnesses should contact police on 101, email email@example.com or the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, quoting serial 1135 on September 20.
