A PHOTO of an armed robber at the Spar shop in Horsham has been released by police.

The robber went into the Coltsfoot Drive store on Boxing Day last year, threatened staff with a knife, and made off with cash.

Police are hoping someone will recognise him from the distinctive hoody he was wearing.

He was described as a white male in his late teens, of slim build and around 6ft tall with short brown hair and a pale complexion.

DS Pierre Serra asked: "Do you recognise the distinctive top the man is wearing with '51' on it, and the description of the suspect, and can combine that information with not knowing someone's whereabouts at around that time over the festive season?

"If so, then I would like to hear from you."

Anyone who was outside the shop at the time and may have witnessed what happened, or can identify the man is asked to contact DS Serra of Horsham CID on 0845 60 70 999 quoting reference 788 of December 26, 2008, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Police say people with information may be eligible for a reward.
