THE MAN who died following a collision with a refuse collection vehicle this morning has been named as Jason Maguire.

Mr Maguire, in his 30s, died at the scene following a collision with a refuse collection vehicle at around 9.20am in Andrews Road, Southwater.

Liz Kitchen (Con, Rusper), leader of Horsham District Council, said: "It is with the greatest sadness that I can confirm that a member of Horsham District Council's refuse collection team, Jason Maguire, was killed whilst at work in the Southwater area this morning (May 15).

"This is a tremendous shock to everyone and our deepest sympathies go to his family and colleagues.

"Jason was aged 34 and had worked for the council since 2005. He lived in Horsham.

"Full details of the incident are being investigated and we are working with the Police and Health & Safety Executive in relation to their enquiries.
