Murder investigation - Needles' bizarre past

AS A MURDER investigation continues on Horsham's Needles estate the County Times has compiled a Needles fact pack with the help of Horsham Museum.
- The Needles estate took its name from timbers used to build a local farmhouse taken from ships wrecked on the Isle of Wight's famous geological phenomenon of the same name.
- In the 1920s the Needles farm house was owned by J.C. Graham, director of the Famous Lasky Production Company which became Paramount Pictures.
- Needles Farm was once part of land owned by the Archbishop of Canterbury, in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries.
- The estate was developed by the council in the 1960s and 1970s.
