HORSHAM has been plunged into darkness following a wide-scale power failure.
EDF Energy says 1,400 of its customers in the West Street area of the town have been affected.

Numerous shops and businesses have been left without power which went down around 2pm.

People have been stuck in lifts and the trafiic lights at Albion Way and Bishopric are also down, creating problems and queues for traffic.

A spokesman said: "EDF Energy engineers are working to restore the supply as quickly as possible. We are sorry for any inconvenience caused."
