HORSHAM'S broken Shelley Fountain could soon rise again after officials called a meeting today to find a way of fixing it.

The giant globe-like fountain, which used to move up and down, has been out of action since May after one of its main hydraulic cylinders failed.

What do you make of the problems?

A spokesperson for Horsham District Council said today (Thursday June 12): "We are meeting the manufacturer today to find a solution to getting the fountain working again."

My personal view is that the fountain should go. It costs thousands to keep it up and running.Electricity, water, tank cleaning. Why not flatten it and put the Swan Walk swans there??!!

The Council should realise when to cut their losses. Its the Council tax payers that end up paying for the fountain whether it works or not.

For ages i thought it was a big boulder.
Does anyone actualy like that thing, it's embarrasing and ugly.
It's always broken for a start and it's a bit sick having a fountain seeing as shelly drowned.
Rip it out and have more room to walk in this cramped, backward town.
Horsham has so many problems and money is being wasted on that horrible thing.
