Buddy Holly back in spirit at Worthing

BUDDY Holly and The Cricketers celebrate 20 years of touring the globe with their celebratory Rock ‘n’ Roll Jukebox concert in Worthing on Friday, October 26.

Led by Dean Elliott, who played the lead in Buddy in the West End over more than 400 performances and who has performed in front of Buddy Holly’s family in Lubbock, Texas, the cast put on a show which gets audiences on their feet, singing along and dancing in the aisles.

The show has toured the USA, Europe, the Middle and Far East; extracts have been performed live on Good Morning Britain and Richard & Judy while numerous charities have benefitted from performances of the show such as SPARKS, Cancer Research, the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award and the British Olympic Appeal.

Many of Buddy’s hits shared radio air-time with songs by 50s and 60s legends such as Elvis Presley, Chuck Berry, Eddie Cochran, Jerry Lee Lewis, Roy Orbison, The Everly Brothers, Little Richard and The Beatles whose music will all also be honoured in the show.

West End musical theatre performers will join Dean in the show to play Buddy’s fellow stars of the time. Between them, the actors’ credits include Lennon, Return to the Forbidden Planet, Jailhouse Rock and Sunday in the Park with George.

Buddy Holly and the Cricketers: Rock ‘n’ Roll Jukebox is at the Assembly Hall, Stoke Abbott Road, Worthing, on

Friday, October 26 at 8pm. Box offices: 01903 206 206 or www.worthingtheatres.co.uk.
