Tough time for an injured workman.

“Henry Smith, of Oakhill, Horsham, applied to the Court under the Workmen’s Compensation Act, on behalf of his son Philip Henry Smith, who lost three of his finger on the left hand in an accident in Feb. 1912 whilst in the employ of the Sussex Bricks Estates Co.

“A year ago his Honour made an order for the payment of 7s 6d a week out of the amount paid as compensation and the father now applied for the renewal of the order.

“The son said in reply to his Honour that he had tried more than once but company would not him back in its employ. He had done no work since February 1912.”
