An excerpt from a 1914 story. Sadly, the lady didn’t survive the fire.

“A fire attended with fatal results broke out at Horsham on Wednesday night and created no little excitement.

“The alarm was given at about 10.20, but a great deal appears to have happened well before the bell rang.

“The scene of the outbreak was 31 Clarence Road, a semi-detached house solely occuped by Mrs Hurton, and aged lady who was practically blind....”
