An unusual discovery in the woods near Horsham in 1914 and some very honest people who handed the items in.

“Colgate: Is it stolen property? Whilst walking through the Holmbush Coverts on Thursday week during a tenents’ rabbit shoot, one of the beaters discovered hidden in the undergrowth a Sheffield-plated coffee pot, which on being opened was found to contain not coffee, but two silver sugar basins, a silver spoon and a silver chain purse.

“The find has been reported to the Police.”
