Some scandal revealed in a Steyning court.

“At Steyning Police Court last Friday Mr J.J. Johnson, a medical practitioner of Hove, was ordered by the justices to pay 5s weekly in the case of each of the twin children of Miss Arnold, a domestic servant, of Hove, who alleged he was the father.

“He was ordered to pay £20 costs, and 48s court fees, and the witness’ expenses. Complainant, it was stated was a panel patient of the defendant.”
