There’s always been community spirit in towns and villages and this report from 1914 shows how Slinfold rallied round.

“Concert at Slinfold: Last night a concert arranged by the Rector of Slinfold (Rev F.G. Hughes M.A.) for the purpose of raising funds to purchase a piano for the village hall was held in the School room.

“There was a large audience and a delightfully musical programme was much enjoyed.

“Special mention should be made of Miss Violet Ludlow’s singing and of Mr Fred Botting’s humerous contrbutions.”
