Memory Lane: When 007 dropped in to Amberley for A View to a Kill
JPCT- 14 Sept 1984 Archive picture. Hornost. Filming of A View To A Kill. Amberley Chalk Pits Museum. Roger Moore
As the film industry and James Bond fans celebrate 50 years of 007 on the big screen, Memory Lane dipped into the archives for this photograph.
The picture formed part of a big feature in the County Times in 1984 when Roger Moore and Grace Jones filmed scenes for A View to a Kill at Amberley chalkpits museum.
The film was released in 1985 and was Sir Roger’s last Bond movie. He is the longest-serving James Bond actor, having spent 12 years in the role - from his debut in 1973, to his retirement from the role in 1985 - and having made seven official films in a row. He is also the oldest actor to play Bond: he was 45 when he started, and 58 when he announced his retirement on December 3, 1985.
