An insight into what happened when the fire alarm went 100 years ago.

“A few minutes after seven o’clock on Monday evening the ringing of the fire bell collected a large crowdin North Street.

“It transpired that the call was from the Mannings Heath Golf Club house. However, before the Brigade could make a start notice was received that the fire had been extinguished.”
