Another speeding case in Ifield, three times the 10mph limit!

“Leonard George Phillipos, a medical student of Middlesex Hospital, admitted exceeding the speed limit with his motor cycle at Ifield on 15th inst, but pleaded not guilty to driving to the danger of the public.

“PC Webster estimated the speed at 30 miles per hour through the 10 mile limit.

“There was much traffic at the time. Henry White and Cecil W Burmey, a chauffeur, corroborated. Defendant tended an explanation and said there was an urgency in the case of his speed. Fined £3and 18s 4d costs.”
