Another tale of a Horsham person getting caught up in the confusion of war. This is a brief extracts from a long report.

“Miss M.S. Pigrome, daughter of Mr G.P. Pigrome, of 42 Kings Road, Horsham, went through some exciting experiences in a journey back from Paris early this week.

“She is the mistress of the Victory Road Girls’ School and left Horsham early last Friday morning on an educational visit to Vincennes, an eastern suburb of Paris...

“At five o’clock on Sunday morning Miss Pigrome was awakened by much shouting and saw two airships pass over the town.”
