A rail fare dodger is fined.

“Arthur Hall, of 54 Egremont Place, Brighton, was summoned for travelling on the Brighton Railway on Feb 20th without having paid his fare.

“Mr Percy G. Eager appeared for the defendant who pleaded guilty. Mr Bishop, prosecuting on behalf of the company, said defendant worked at Horsham and lived at Brighton. “His modus operandi was to take a ticket at Brighton for Hove, ride through to Horsham and there give up a return half, Christ’s Hospital to Horsham.

“He admitted he had done this on seven occasions. Fined 20s, costs 5s, and allowed a week.
