The latest Horsham casualty is announced.

“On Monday Mr W. Staples, of 11 Chilwell Terrace [Horsham], received notice from the War Office of the death of his son, Corporal Albert Alfred Staples, of the 2nd Bedordshire Regiment.

“The deceased, a single man aged 26, was killed in action on October 29th. The place was not stated in the notice.

“Corporal Staples joined the Regiment about six years ago and after a year in Bermuda was three years in South Africa.”
