A rather prosaic report of a meeting in Horsham.

“Demonstration against Home Rule: As the Salvationists forestalled the Unionists on Saturday night in the Carfax the brake was removed into Market Square, where a crowd soon gathered to hear the speeches.

“Mr A.C. Oddie J.P. presided and opened the meeting with a vigorous speech against Home Rule. He was followed by Mr George Brown, of the League of British Covenanters, who at the outset dwelt upon the advantages that the tillers of the soil had in Ireland and detailed what had been done in the way of financial assistance.”
