The funeral in Horsham of a popular fireman.

“A fireman’s funeral took place on Saturday afternoon, when the remains of Supt George Scutt, who had a record of over forty years’ active service with the Brigade were committed to their last resting place at Hill’s Cemetery [Horsham].

“The deceased, who retired a few years ago, retaining his rank and becoming an Hon member, had been for over 30 years in the service of the Eversfield family, on the Denne Park estate, and was much esteemed.”
