An interesting account about flooding in areas around Barns Green which have caused concern in more recent times.

“Itchingfield Parish Council. Well-grounded complaints were received as to the constant flooding of the farm yard at Westons, also under the railway bridge at Barns Green, and the road opposite the Post Office, Barns Green.

“It was stated that defective drains and ditches were the cause of the trouble.

“The council unanimously resolved that a letter be sent to the District Council asking for these defects to be attended to.”
