This court case from 1914 possibly comes under the title of fined while showing off?

“Leonard Kent, of Crawley Road, Roffey, who did not appear, was summoned for riding his bike furously at Horsham on January 7.

“P.S. Bristow said defendant took the Brighton Road and London Road corner at a rate of about sixteen miles an hour and came down with a crash.

“He was, however, unhurt. Fined 2s 6d.”
