At the Queen’s Head Hotel [Horsham] on New Year’s Eve newspaper distributors employed by Mrs Duffield, of Queen Street, had their annual social gathering, spending a most enjoyable time.

In all, thirty-two sat down to a substantial repast of roast beef, boiled beef, roast mutton, plum pudding, cheese and celery.

Subsequently the evening was devoted to harmony, Mr F Richardson presiding at the piano.
