Daily photo nostalgia - October 23

Old Houghton bridge.

Old Houghton bridge.

Welcome to our latest daily nostalgia photo.

Every day we are publishing a new image or even a slideshow from around the Horsham district.

You are welcome to help identify these by adding a comment below.

You are also welcome to send in any pictures you think might interest our readers.

Just email any photos to pics@sussexnewspapers.co.uk or drop them into our front office in Market Square, Horsham, addressed to Steve Payne.

Our thanks to James Tolson who emailed us this fascinating photo.

James said: “You may be interested in this picture of Amberley Station and surrounding settlement of Houghton Bridge taken I guess from the Chalkpits. Sorry I don’t know the date.”

Thanks also to Yvonne Wynn who emailed us about the photo we published on October 20, which also prompted another reader to leave a comment.

Yvonne said: “The picture is of Parbrook (looking towards the centre of the village). Taken around 1912, the cottage in the foreground is Fossbrooks. I am enjoying the old photos – as many as possible please!”

Don’t worry Yvonne, there are plenty more lined up.

See also the West Sussex County Times every week for more nostalgia.
