“Bernard Sparrow Davenport, of West Smithfield, was fined £1 and cost for exceeding the ten mile limit at Crawley.

“P.S. Trott said the speed was 18 miles an hour. When stopped defendant said: ‘Is the place where they are hard up for fines?’”
