Interesting to see that 100 years ago parts of Horsham were still owned by the Duke of Norfolk.

“Horsham Urban Districvt Council: Mr Lawrence, in accordance with notice, moved: ‘That the negotiations with the Duke of Norfolk for the acquisition by the council of the waste land on the western side of North Street be re-opened’.

“He said some scheme should be prepared and submitted to the agents of the Duke so that they would have something to go upon.”
