Just in case we thought the strong winds were a relatively modern-day phenomenon.

“Accident: During the gale on Monday afternoon, Mr Edmund Randall, of 46 Oakhill Road, in the employ of Messrs Rowland Bros, was blown off a scaffold at Coolham Schools.

“He fell 9ft or 10ft. Fortunately no bones were broken. He was removed to his home, and is progressing favourably.”
