Building on previous success
SELSEY Festival looks certain to build on past successes with another packed programme - around 70 events spanning three weeks from Friday, August 6 through to Bank Holiday Monday.
Sue Graves, Selsey Festival co-ordinator, is delighted at the way the Festival, now in its eighth year, has taken root.
"It's a totally-established part of the Selsey scene. I even have people ringing up to book their holidays around certain events that they particularly want to see.
"The Festival is so varied. It caters for so many different tastes."
And just as importantly, it's at the heart of the community: "It brings about real cohesion and bonding. People meet at events that they might not otherwise think of going to.
"We have about 70 events that range right down to the tiniest little ones. We lose some every year; some people do it every other year; but we always manage to get about 70."
