World Rub A Dub masters line up at Concorde 2, Brighton on March 27 in a show presented by Family Ents.

Promoter Kairen Kemp said: “Get ready for a reggae all-nighter featuring for the first time together two of the greatest Rub A Dub sounds of all time, direct from Kingston Jamaica.

“King Stur-Gav (Daddy U-Roy’s sound system) formed in mid 70s. The name was an abbreviation of U-Roy’s son’s names and his own; St for Stewart, U-Roy and Gav from Gavin.

“King Stur-Gav served as a Academy at which some of the best microphone talent of the era could hone their lyrical skills and provided a platform for many DJs such as Charlie Chaplin, Brigadier Jerry and Josey Wales to take their style to the forefront of reggae music.

“Volcano Hi Power under the leadership of the renowned reggae record producer Henry Junjo Laws and selector Danny Dread. Volcano dominated the reggae dance hall scene in the mid-80s creating superstars such as Yellow man, Buro Banton, Cocoa Tea, Ranking Toyan and many more...
