WITH petrol prices tipped to reach a record high in the next few weeks, the County Times will publish a weekly roundup of local fuel prices.
The AA says a sharp rise in the European wholesale price of petrol, combined with the weak pound and planned tax rises in the Budget, are likely to push forecourt prices to an all time high.
The motoring organisation says the UK average price coul
d go above £1.20 per litre - even higher than last summer.
To help the money-conscious motorist, we want to provide our readers with a simple price comparison guide, letting them know how much they can expect to pay at Horsham district's filling stations.
Since forecourt prices can change at short notice, we are also inviting our readers to join in by letting us know what price they had to pay last time they filled up on fuel.
The AA fuel price report for February recorded average prices for the south east of England as 112.6 for unleaded; 114.3 for diesel; 119.2 for super unleaded. On April 1, the Budget is set to increase the price of fuel still further, by about 3p per litre.
