STUDENTS from Tanbridge House School raised more than £400 for charity through sales of a world record-breaking radio advertisement written by one of the pupils.
Tristan Smith, 13, who wrote the script for the advertisement, proudly presented a cheque for £405 to Caroline Bird from Teenage Cancer Trust (TCT) on March 9.
The TCT's south east regional appeals manager, Helen Haynes said: "It's wonderful that the school has raised over £400 for the charity.
"Their support means that they are directly helping young people in the south east fight cancer."
The advert, created by radio advertising production company Airforce, featured a record 135 different voices.
The donation was raised by selling CD copies of the finished product, as well as TCT merchandise.
The charity supports teenagers and young adults suffering from cancer who are often treated in age-inappropriate facilities.
Headteacher Jules White said: "Both the school and the charity have the same message – teenagers are the next generation, support them and they will astound you.
"It is marvellous to see our students supporting such a great cause."
