A scheme to turn a Pelican crossing into a modern Puffin crossing in Worthing Road, Southwater, will start from Monday March 15.

The £45,000 West Sussex County Council scheme will also involve improving pedestrian facilities in the area, north of Southwater Business Park and Amber Glade.

The scheme is scheduled to take up to three weeks to complete, weather permitting. It will be carried out Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm.

For the first week only, night work is being carried out from 7pm to 11pm.

Temporary two-way traffic lights will be in operation for the duration of the scheme.
