A MOTHER of two is attempting a marathon for the first time next month, in support of the Prostate Cancer Charity.
Nicola Lord, of Ropeland Way, Horsham, will be running the London marathon on Sunday April 25, in support of a close family member who suffers from the disease.
She said: "It's a charity that is close to my heart, and so that gives me a stronger incentive to do my best and raise as much as possible."
Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men in the UK, with 35,000 men diagnosed in the UK in 2006.
Nicola is thankful that daughters Sophie, nine, and Emily, six, who go to Holbrook Primary School, are helping her raise sponsorship.
A teaching assistant at Greenway School, Horsham, Nicola is also counting on the support of pupils and colleagues there in her run.
