A MAJOR scheme to widen a notorious accident blackspot along the A23 at Handcross will push more traffic along Slaugham Lane.
Plans for the £103m widening scheme over 2.4 miles from Handcross to Warninglid are now complete and in a final amendment Slaugham will lose its junction with the A23.

Last year, after a public inquiry, the Department for Transport accepted an independent Inspector's recommendation that the scheme orders should be made.

After additional traffic forecasting and further public consultation, two suggested amendments to the published scheme, which were recommended by the planning inspector, have been accepted and included.
