'Thanks for care of our daughter'
OUR DAUGHTER gave birth to a healthy baby boy six weeks ago in the Conquest Hospital, Hastings.
This is obviously an everyday occurrence but was a miracle to all her family and friends.
She was unwell at the beginning of her pregnancy and was seen at the early pregnancy unit at the Conquest. Several investigations were ordered, one of which was an urgent brain scan.
When our daughter was 12 weeks pregnant she had her routine ante natal scan. As with all expectant parents this was a highly emotional day seeing the tiny embryo.
However our excitement was short-lived when, in the afternoon, we were told that she had a brain tumour. We were all devastated by his news and there followed a referral to Hurstwood Park Neurological Unit at Haywards Heath.
After more investigations and consultations our daughter underwent major surgery in December to remove the brain tumour. She was 20 weeks pregnant. She made a slow but full recovery and is now enjoying her little miracle baby who survived her lengthy surgery.
We want to thank everyone at Hurstwood Park Hospital and the obstetric team at the Conquest Hospital.
The care that our daughter, her partner and family received was first class. The last six months have been a rollercoaster ride and one which we would never have expected.
Many members of the public will unexpectedly need the expertise of the dedicated staff at Hurstwood Park Neurological centre.
Their annual Summer Fete and Family Fun Day will be held on Saturday June 27 (12.30 to 4.30pm) at Primrose Cottage, Vines Cross Road, Horam. Please support the League of Friends who raise much needed funds.
