Letter: No water competition
I SEE Southern Water is trying to rip its customers off again by putting up its charges for next year by 8.2 per cent.
Not content with ripping us off with the water meters, paying 100 per cent more for the same water, it adds insult to injury with its latest price hike which is way above the average of 5.7 per cent.
I don’t know what world these people live in but don’t they live in the real world. Don’t they realise there is a recession on and money is tight?
Of course this doesn’t worry them as we are all a captive audience because they have a monopoly on water in this area. There is NO competition unlike gas and electric etc.
I believe that consumers should complain and complain about water charges and then perhaps we will get some competition.
