Join in the fun of Santa Stroll

Parkinson’s UK is looking to recruit volunteers to ensure a Santa Stroll is full of Ho, Ho, Ho!

The charity is asking for local people to give up a couple of hours of their time to lead a group of walkers, at their Santa Stroll around the Cowdray Estate, Midhurst.

The event, which takes place at Easebourne on Sunday November 25, is a fantastic opportunity to help raise awareness of the condition whilst enjoying a fantastic day getting into the spirit of Christmas!

This is a popular sponsored event and we are delighted to take it to West Sussex for the first time.

I would like to invite West Sussex residents to join us and volunteer a couple of hours of their time, taking small groups of walkers around the 7.5mile route. With your help we can make the event a success and help get people talking about Parkinson’s.

Every hour someone in the UK is told they have Parkinson’s, but at the moment there is no cure. I hope many people will be inspired to sign up and spare a few hours to help us to make a real difference to local people living with the condition.

Volunteers are required to join the team for a practice on Sunday November 4 from 1.30pm to 4.30pm. The actual event will take place on November 25. Refreshments and a free Parkinson’s UK T-shirt will be provided.

The funds raised from the event will help the charity to improve the lives of those living with Parkinson’s in the South East.

There are 127,000 people living with Parkinson’s in the UK and 8,000 of which live in the South East.

Every hour, someone in the UK is told they have Parkinson’s. Because we’re here, no one has to face Parkinson’s alone.

We bring people with Parkinson’s, their carers and families together via our network of local groups, our website and free confidential helpline. Specialist nurses, our supporters and staff provide information and training on every aspect of Parkinson’s.

As the UK’s Parkinson’s support and research charity we’re leading the work to find a cure, and we’re closer than ever. We also campaign to change attitudes and demand better services.

Our work is totally dependent on donations. Help us to find a cure and improve life for everyone affected by Parkinson’s. Visit: parkinsons.org.uk
