Sainsbury’s Horsham has presented its local football team the Horsham Sparrows with 72 Brand New Training Bibs.

The Sainsbury’s Community Grant scheme, helping charitable groups in the local community, is funded by sales of ‘Bags for Life’. So for customers at Sainsbury’s Horsham buying a ‘Bag for Life’, this means that they are not only doing great things for the environment, but are also making a contribution to their local community.

Chris Cooper, Club Secretary for Horsham Sparrows said ”Horsham Sparrows is very pleased to receive this donation of training bibs from Sainsbury’s Horsham. It is only through the generous support of local businesses, large and small, that the club is able to deliver football to over 250 boys, girls, ladies and men thorough the 17 teams participating in the club this season. This equipment will help the training to develop the teams whilst enabling us to keep our annual subscriptions low to ensure the club is open to everyone who wishes to play and enjoy football.”

Sainsbury’s Horsham Store Manager, Derek Boarer said: “Our store is at the heart of the local community and it is important that we do as much as we can to support it. When we heard about the Horsham Sparrows needs we were really pleased to be able to help out.”

Last year alone the Community Grants scheme provided £135k worth of donations, nominated by store managers and colleagues from stores nation wide.
