Pupils at The Forest School in Horsham are flying high thanks to new trampolines funded by Sport England.

The community based project, supported by Horsham District Council, will enable pupils at the school, local primary schools and community groups to have the opportunity to try a new sport, develop new skills and get active.

Juliette Clitheroe, Forest School PE teacher and trampoline coach, said: “We have been given a fantastic opportunity. To have the equipment at Forest enables us to offer our pupils an alternative sporting activity which develops boy’s fitness, strength, co-ordination and team work.”

The school already offers pupils more than 30 after-school clubs and sporting activities from drama to dance and basketball to debating. Having trampolines on site has expanded the already extensive range of sports clubs available.

Mrs Clitheroe added: “It is great for our GCSE pupils too as they can use the trampolines for their assessed piece of work.”

There will be a series of community events run jointly by HDC and Forest School enabling people to have a go at the sport; look out for more information soon.
