As part of Science Week at Farlington Prep School, Year 3 pupils enjoyed an educational visit to local company Horsham Stone.
Having been learning all about different types of rocks and soils, the students particularly enjoyed seeing the 130 million year old rock and different fossils, as well as handling a piece of fossalised dinosaur poo!
Horsham Stone highlighted the many diverse ways that the stone is used today and the pupils also had the opportunity to see how the stone is cut by machine and by hand.
David Smail, Director at Horsham Stone commented:
“It was fantastic having the pupils from Farlington Prep School visit. It fitted in perfectly with what they had been studying and they all seemed to thoroughly enjoy their visit.”
